My school is an Anatolian Teacher Training High School and it prepares students for the language teaching departments of
universities. It is a boarding school which serves for students who are from poor and middle class families from all parts of
the country. When compared to the other parts of the country, it is located in a disadvantaged area in terms of economical
development and my school plays an important role in the developing process of my region. As an institution, we try to
make use of the historical and natural environment of our region for economical and social improvements. My institution is
in the heart of such efforts for social and economical developments.As the half of the students are from the rural areas
around the city, it has bounds with every social class of the region and it cannot isolate itself from the problems of any
social class.It also plays an important role in the educational progress of the region as many of the teachers on duty in the
city center and nearby districts are the graduates of this school.Moreover,it is one of the oldest high schools of the country
and as it is well known for its educational success, it attracts the successful students of the lower and middle class families
from almost every geographical region in my country. Owing to this, it can be regarded as a miniature of social and cultural
structures of my country. As it is a boarding school,it meets all the needs of the students and therefore, it is one of the few
schools which serves for the successful but poor students coming from the rural areas. As it has good ties with the private
and state institutions of the city, it also provides scholarships for the students of poor families. Furthermore, my school is
one of the few schools which provide language learning education in the city via the language teaching department and
these kinds of international activities will contribute a lot to the success of our students and institution in general.
My school will play a basic role in this project due to the nature of the project itself as the role of men and women in
society is a matter which has been being discussed in my society and country for a long time. In addition to this,at the end
of the project, we are sure that the findings about my country and social context will help all partners to form a new point
of view for the subject. Our role in this process will be to reflect an objective picture of the situation in our country.
