MINUTES OF THE VISIT IN TURKEY
THE ROLE PLAYS
Every country performed its role plays on the 14th of May, Saturday. In the role plays, every country tried to demonstrate the differences of men and women in terms of choosing professions in their own cultural contexts. The dialogues were chosen to be simple so as to make those differences understandable for all. Moreover, through these role plays, the spectators had the chance to evaluate the past and the present situations in those distinctive cultural settings. Parent pressure in choosing professions was also shown in the role plays.
DISCUSSIONS ABOUT THE ROLE PLAYS
Discussions about the role plays by students were also carried out. The students were given the opportunity to discuss about the different aspects of the role plays during their trips and they took down notes about it. They wrote down what they have learnt about the topic from the role plays of the different countries. They also had the chance to ask and answer questions about those role plays.
FOLLOWING VISITS
After discussions about the dates with the coordinators of each country, the following dates were decided for Germany and Italy;
- Germany:14-19 OR 21-26 March 2012
- Italy:16-20 May 2012
- Possible Visit in Poland: October 2011
The dates were decided as to be the best dates for each of the partner countries.
THE TOPIC OF THE FOLLOWING VISIT
The topic of the following visit was decided as the following;
*What are the interests of boys and girls when choosing the subjects in education? Why do they choose certain subjects?
This question comes out from the objective number one which says: "To determine the interests of both genders in their educational lives in each local community". Through our role plays in the next visit, we are going to try to discover and make public the different interests of boys and girls while they are deciding for which subjects to choose at school. We will try to determine the differences and similarities in different cultures related to this topic. Despite the efforts done to abolish the differences between men and women in terms of choosing different subjects to study and thus the different professions to get by, the differences between men and women in terms of the above topics still exist.
The evaluation will be done after the visit in the participant countries. Thus the students will have more time to think and evaluate what they have witnessed and learnt in the visits to the partner countries.
POSSIBLE ACTIVITIES TO BE CARRIED OUT IN THE VISIT TO POLAND
As the coordinators of the five countries, we decided to do the following activities in the visit to Poland. Our activities will be carried out in two parts:
PART 1:Students wear traditional clothes to demonstrate them to the other participants . They may also sing a traditional song from their own country.
PART 2: Students wear normal clothes to show that all countries more or less look the same. They sing a song all together. Each country writes down lyrics to include them in the same song. The song will be decided by all the countries.
FINAL SUGGESTIONS
All the coordinators thanked each other for their precious opinions about the activities. Each wished success for the activities in the other meetings.

The coordinators meet to deal with the following topics:
First of all they start with the analysis about how the activities have been developed in each country. And if they have found any problems to develop them. Here, each coordinator gives their impressions about the first activities:
Germany said that they made a brainstorming of ideas before starting to write their dialogues, afterwards they used their ideas to write down the dialogues.
Poland said that they devoted a lot of time to write the dialogues, they said there wasn’t much time to do them.
Turkey said that they made a survey to get information to write down the dialogues. Moreover, they thought about asking parents to ask them for help, but they couldn’t do it because of lack of time. In the end, students didn’t like what they had written and their teacher wrote the whole dialogue.
Italy said that they didn’t have enough time to rehearse.
Spain said they found the problem to write the dialogues, they spent a lot of time to do it because they didn’t know about what to do it. They complained about not having the questionnaires that have said to be used at the beginning.
After the analysis the results of the questionnaires in Italy were shown by the coordinator of the project.
Moreover, the first products were presented: the Winning logo, which was the Italian one, the Theatre dictionary, and the posters of the visit.
The coordinator also showed his partners the Data Base he had created with all the addresses and important information about each student and teacher taking part in project.

- Poland: Possible meeting in July 2012. Only teachers.
The coordinator mentioned the European program E-Twinning, but they decided not to do it during this year, because they were really busy with all their work at that moment.
They also planned and organised the new tasks until the next meeting. They said that they would have to write new role plays to perform in Turkey, and Turkey would also have to prepare the poster to disseminate the visit in Turkey.
The topic of the following role plays was decided thanks to the objectives 2 and 8 from the project. Students must show in their role plays how women and men have got jobs that have always been for men and now they are being made by women, and vice versa.
No suggestions and doubts were done at the end of the meeting of the teachers.

THE PRESENTATIONS OF THE PARTICIPANT COUNTRIES

We decided that we should cooperate well with every single person in our project groups and we should be very careful while clarifying the details of the project to all the members of the groups.
METHODOLOGY
While implementing our project, we are going to stick to the following methodology and we will carry out the activities in the following steps:
- First of all, questionnaires will be prepared and the teachers will guide the students while they are preparing questionnaires. The coordinators of the project, Juan, Ayhan, Christina and Daniela are going to have a meeting on the internet to decide for the details of the questionnaires. The exact date of the meeting will be determined in collaboration with all the coordinators.
- Secondly, for role plays, every school will be responsible for its own role-play and scenery. In each visit about 10 students will be taken abroad and they will be responsible for those role plays. The distribution of the roles and tasks will be done by the coordinator in each country. We also decided that the role plays should be prepared in a way they demonstrate characteristics of the cultural features of each country.
- After performances, questions will be prepared in order to discover the cultural features of each country, it is crucial for the activities to give an overall view of the cultural characteristics of each country.
- While implementing the activities decided before, the teachers will guide the students but they will not be so strict and they will not tell the students what to do all the time so as not to make them feel like as they are still in classrooms. Of course, they will be guided by the teachers, but in a way, they will be set free to carry out the activities. In this way, we aim at developing the creativity of the students participating in the project.
- At the end of each activity, questionnaires will be prepared so as to evaluate the effectiveness of each activity. The questionnaires will be made public through the web page of our project. The evaluation questionnaire will be prepared in different ways. For example, for activities, it will be asked questions like ‘How did you like…?’’and pictures for faces (happy, unhappy, neutral) will be prepared and so on…..We decided that every visit must be evaluated but this evaluation must be done by teachers.
- Finally, we will also try to do dissemination activities. If we have local newspapers and televisions, we will inform them about our activities and in this way we will try to make as many people as possible aware of our project. We will attach great importance to dissemination activities. Questionnaires will be sent to the coordinators by Juan and it will be checked by all the teachers who attended the meeting in Italy.
THE IMPACT
For the students, it was decided that they will be put up in students’ houses. To be able to decide for who will stay with whom, a description for each student will be prepared and while deciding for the question above, this sheet of description will be taken into consideration. THE SECOND MEETING
DATE:26th November
PARTICIPANTS: All members of the countries included in the project
WEB RESOURCES
- PROJECT WEBPAGE: Juan presents the webpage of the project. All the participants partners will use it in order to get or exchange information from one countries to others. It will be used as a way of communication.
- EUROPEAN SHARED TREASURE: At the end of the first year, we will have to upload our products on this web page. For the common products, the coordinator will upload the products. But for individual products, each participant country will take over the duty. As decided before in the contact seminar in Munich, Juan and Ayhan will be responsible for the web page and they will share all the responsibilities about the web page.
- E-TWINNING. We decided that all the partners should register their institutions on the e-twinning. We can work on our project through this platform. At the end of two years, we can start a new project via this platform. In a way, this platform will ensure us to work on new ideas for new projects in the future.
- EUROPASS. We will get certificates via europass at the end of the first year. We will also get certificates for each visit.
THE DISTRIBUTION OF TASKS
We talked about which country should do what and which activities should be carried out in cooperation with the other partners. After long discussions, we decided for the following to be able to make every responsibility clear for each participant country:
- to upload all the products, Spain and Turkey will be responsible.
- For the brochure, Germany will be responsible and they will prepare the brochure for theatre words. Germany will send it to all countries to be translated by each country. The brochure will be printed and delivered to the students after translation. The first week of January will be the deadline to deliver the brochure to the students.
- All countries will prepare posters for the visits. In this way, the students will be made more enthusiastic about taking part in the activities to be implemented in the future and the visits will be made public more easily and in a more effective way.
- We will prepare a short leaflet in our native languages to give information about our project. It will be like a summary but everybody will be able to gain the necessary information about the project.
- Each country will prepare three role plays during the project in two years time. Each country will perform those three role plays and in the last visit, the best one will be performed in Italy. The topic of the first role plays will be the presents given on special days or festival in different countries as each country has such special days. The role play topics will be linked to the gender differences in a way. We will focus on the fact that girls and boys receive different gifts on different festivals. Also, the topic can be how boys and girls live the festivities. Roles of men and women for the festivities will also be discovered and presented to the participants of other countries via the role plays.
- We also decided that role plays should include a conflict between genders. They shouldn’t be like a description of the festival. In this way, the role plays will be more interesting and more enjoyable for both the performers and the viewers.
- All the host countries will prepare certificates for all the participants of the visits. In those sheets of paper, there should be the symbol of the host school, the logo of the European Union, signature of the headmaster of the host school and the stamp of the host school.
- Before Christmas, all the student cards will be prepared. This will be done for the students who will attend the visit in Spain. When they are finished by all countries, they will be sent to the host school in Spain.
- The logos will be prepared and will be uploaded to the web page. The students will vote for the best one and the most voted one will be the logo of the project for the whole two years. While voting, each country will collect the students and each country will vote for other schools’ logos giving points 1-4. The logo which gets the highest punctuation will be the winner.
- The coordinator will organize skype meetings with the partner schools. In this way, we are going to establish a good coordination and cooperation with the schools participating in the project.
- The host family will be responsible for hosting the students. The students who will attend the visits will take some gifts for families where they will be hosted. These gifts will not be expensive things but they will be things special to their local area.
- We are going to try to contact with the local newspaper, radios and televisions in order to disseminate our project. We will also contact with the local authorities.
- Before publishing anything, we will get permission from the parents of the students in the project group. This is very important for some countries because, according to the laws, it is not allowed to publish any picture of the students without getting permission from the parents first.
