IES Cañada de la Encina. Iniesta. (Cuenca). Spain
Iniesta is placed in the oriental half of the Manchuela in Cuenca, well communicated with the nearby localities and also with big cities such as Madrid and Valencia. It has about 4500 inhabitants being the third most important town in the area, after Quintanar del Rey and Motilla del Palancar. There is a great historical reference to the Iberian Roman, Visigoth and Muslim Ages. From the 16th to the beginning of the 20th century, Iniesta was a very important city in this area, however, before and after the Civil War many people emigrated to other places. In the last decade, Iniesta has suffered a certain economic recovery. This has been due to the cultivation of mushroom, the recovery of the vineyard, transport and construction.

It is well communicated with the city of Albacete - 55 km-, on which it depends on for hospitals, commercial level and on services, though also the proximity to the highway of Madrid - Valencia has shortened the distances with both cities.
