How did the project start?
Everything started in Herrshing (Munich) in a Contact Seminar about Gender Education. We all met there and then decided to start this new and excitind project. Along the project we will be uploading all the stuff that we create due to the different activities that we want to develop throught our project. In the picture you can find the four teachers who started everything. From left to right: Ayhan (Turkey), Christina (Germany), Juan (Spain) and Daniella ( Italy).
What's our project about?
In this project students (14 - 17 years old) from different countries will investigate about how the society in the different
countries taking part in the project behaves concerning men and women. They will try to find out about the roles of men
and women in the communities of the partner countries. And at the end of the activity, they will try to portrait typical men
and women's profiles in the partner countries.
The whole process will be developed in the following way:
The students start investigating about the roles of men and women in their own countries. They will do this by preparing
some questionnaires which they will use in order to get some information to write their role plays. Teachers will propose
the main topics for those role-plays.
In the following step, students start writing their role plays basing them on the information they have researched with the
questionnaires. Then, they will rehearse and prepare the clothes and scenery in their own countries. Teachers will make a
continuous evaluation of the process and they will revise their students’ role plays.
There will be a role play performed by each country in each visit, after the performances there will be discussions where
students will learn about the culture of the other countries. The students will be living in other students' houses. Therefore
they will be able to learn about the culture of the different countries they visit.
When students are back from the visits or while they are preparing the project in their own countries, they will be able to
express their ideas, thoughts, suggestions… on a website related to the project.
Apart from the website, we will produce DVDs, posters, texts as role plays, scenery, questionnaires, logbooks, diaries, etc.
